READY TO HANG 2022
One of Our Region's Largest Exhibitions of Local Art
One Day Only!
631 Garden Street, Santa Barbara
Ready to Hang is a community-wide art show that brings together artists of all stripes for an art sale and party, building our creative community.
A pop up show open to all local artists for creations 12 inches by 12 inches in size, Ready to Hang presents a unique opportunity to see new works by our entire community of artists in one show.
Ready to Hang typifies the spirit of the CAW as space for everyone to create and share. The show is already one of our region's largest showcases of local art. In its first year, it exhibited 418 pieces of art by more than 200 artists. In two nights, more than 600 people visited and 102 works of art were sold. Up to 450 pieces are anticipated this year, and even more artists and visitors participating.

-
Sizing of Pieces: 12”x12”x5”.
-
The size of the piece includes any frame or hanging hardware.
-
If it’s in a frame the outside edges of the frame should be 12“ x 12“ exactly.
-
If it’s not in a frame the outside edges of the piece should be 12“ x 12“ exactly.
-
5” deep is the maximum depth but not a required depth. The piece can be flat.
-
-
What hanging hardware is required? All pieces must be ready to hang. That can be a gallery wire or sawtooth hanger. "Ready to hang" means the piece should sit flush to the wall and not require adjustments by the show crew beyond placing the piece on a nail.
-
No glass please. Plexiglass or other nonbreakable materials are fine if work is framed.
-
What does "local" mean? If you want to get specific, we are emphasizing artists in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties at this time. You must drop off and pick up your work yourself. And hopefully attend the party!
-
All pieces should be dry. :)
